Micro moths, often referred to as “micromoths,” are a diverse group of mostly small-sized moths. Many micromoths have specialized lifestyles. For example, some are leaf miners, burrowing between the upper and lower surfaces of leaves as larvae. Others might live inside stems or seeds. Their often cryptic habits can make them challenging to study. I’m lumping other primitive moths into two sections, Ghost moths (Hepialidae) and Cossidae. Select by clicking or tapping a photo.
